Support the concert in Jerusalem
This year marks the two very important anniversaries: the 75th anniversary of the State of Israel's independence and the 700th anniversary of Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. To commemorate these milestones, a concert of "Symphony from Jerusalem of the North" by composer Jievaras Jasinskis will be held in Israel on 18 May this year at the Jerusalem Theater.
The masterpiece will be performed by the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra and guest musicians from Lithuania and Israel, and will be sung by the famous Litvak tenor Rafailas Karpis. This concert will be a culmination of the international conference "March of the Nations" programme marking the the Israeli statehood. For the first time, a new arrangement of the "Symphony from Jerusalem of the North" for the full symphony orchestra and soloists will surprise its audience. This unprecedented work combines classical music with exotic Middle Eastern melodies, Lithuanian folk motifs, klezmer and jazz elements. It is a contemporary project with archaic musical overtones, with the majestic sound of ancient Hebrew shofar horns, and the subtle melodies of the kanklės and birbynė, which are subtly blended into the orchestral sound, intertwined with the musical harmonies of the Middle East. The event is scheduled to be filmed by an Israeli TV channel. By supporting this historic event you promote a meaningful project as well as contribute toward strengthening relations between Lithuania and Israel. |
